BONE GRAFTING

A bone graft is a surgical procedure done to replace missing bone matter in your jaw. You may need one if you have lost bone mass due to infection, injury or missing teeth. You may also need one if you need a dental implant to replace a missing tooth.

Before the procedure, our dental surgeon will perform a thorough examination of your jaw and teeth, which may include x-ray imaging with our advanced Panorex system for diagnostic purposes. This examination will reveal what areas of your jawbone are deficient in bone mass.

During the procedure, we will first make sure you are as comfortable as possible. Our surgeon will then attach a sterile, bone-like material to the affected areas of your jaw. Over the next few months, your natural bone will grow around this material, increase your jawbone’s strength, and prepare you for our expert restorative dentistry.
