Cross Creek Dental Implants

Cross Creek Dental offers a reliable, durable solution to replacing missing teeth. Our team, led by Dr. Neko Webb and Dr. Emily Latteri, who are committed to restoring the aesthetics and functionality of your smile using the latest implant technology.

What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are titanium posts surgically implanted into your jawbone under your gums. Once they are in place, your dentist can mount replacement teeth on them. Implants are stable because they fuse with your jawbone. Implant-mounted dentures and bridges will not slip or move in your mouth, which is especially useful when eating and talking.

Dental Implants: Benefits and Treatment

  • Natural Feel and Look: Dental Implants are designed to closely resemble your natural teeth’ appearance and function. They are not only designed to match the shape and color of your existing teeth but also to blend seamlessly into your smile.
  • Comfort and Improved Speech: Traditional Dentures can slip in your mouth, causing discomfort or slurred words. Dental implants are anchored securely to your jawbone. They won't shift or move, giving you greater comfort and confidence when speaking.
  • Easier eating: Dental implants provide the same stability as natural teeth, so you can eat your favorite foods like usual. Implants restore full functionality of your mouth by allowing you to bite and chew without fear of pain.
  • Durability The durability of dental implants is one of their most important advantages. Implants can last for decades when properly cared for. These implants are made of materials like titanium that integrate with the jawbone and create a strong bond.
  • Oral health enhancement: Dental Implants are an alternative to traditional bridgework because they don't rely on the neighboring teeth for support. This helps to preserve the natural structure of adjacent teeth. Implants also help to prevent bone loss, maintain jawbone integrity, and contribute to overall oral health.

Dental implants are a long-term solution to replace missing teeth, which can help prevent damage to your jawbone. The roots of an intact adult tooth are burrowed deep into the gums near the jawbone. When you chew, the pressure causes the tooth roots to stimulate the jawbone, keeping it firm and healthy. That stimulation does not happen where a tooth is missing, which can weaken the jawbone. If you don’t get the missing tooth replaced with an implant, it can actually lead to future dental health problems and loss of bone mass in your jaw.

In order to ensure your health, Dr. Rice and his associates will first perform a comprehensive examination of your mouth. This includes diagnostic imaging with our Panorex system (short for “panoramic x-ray”). These images will reveal any dental health issues that may need to be handled before your implant surgery, such as:

  • Impacted teeth.
  • Oral cancer.
  • Fractures or bone trauma.
  • Gum disease.

The implant itself is a small titanium post that the doctor surgically places into your gums. To ensure the stability of the implant, you may need to receive bone grafting. During a bone graft procedure, the dentist attaches a material to any deficient areas of your jawbone. With time, your natural bone will grow over the new material and the implant, providing a strong base for your replacement tooth.

Once healed, the dentist will affix a crown to the top of the implant that looks, feels and functions just like your natural teeth!
