TOOTH EXTRACTION

Our friendly dentists at Cross Creek are experienced at extracting teeth and can do so right here in our Fayetteville dental office, no referral needed! After a thorough examination, which may include advanced x-ray imaging for diagnostic purposes, we will talk with you about the procedure and answer any questions or concerns you might have. Our goal is to keep you as comfortable as possible during your visit.

Why Tooth Extraction May Be Necessary:

  • Impacted Teeth: When teeth are blocked from breaking through the gum, such as with some wisdom teeth, extraction may be necessary to prevent pain, infection, and damage to adjacent teeth.
  • Crowding Due to Wisdom Teeth: Wisdom teeth can often lead to crowding of other teeth, disrupting the alignment of your smile. Removal can prevent shifting and misalignment of your existing teeth.
  • Severe Tooth Decay: Teeth that have decayed so extensively that fillings or other restorative methods cannot repair them may need to be extracted to prevent the spread of decay and infection.
  • Advanced Gum Disease: Gum disease can cause the loosening of teeth. In advanced cases, extraction might be required to preserve the health of surrounding gum tissue and other teeth.
  • Trauma from Injury: Significant dental trauma can irreparably damage teeth. Extraction might be the best option to pave the way for effective replacement and restoration procedures.

In some cases, Dr. Rice and his associates may recommend a bone graft after your extraction in order to preserve the strength of your jawbone. You can learn more about the bone graft procedure here.
